Flonase Nasal Spray 50mcg – Allergy Relief, 60 Sprays | GSK

Indications:
Flonase is used in adults aged 18 years and over to treat the allergic symptoms of hay fever and other allergies caused by airborne allergens such as allergies to pets, dust mites and mould spores. It relieves symptoms including sneezing, itchy eyes and watery eyes and symptoms such as runny nose and itchy or stuffy nose for up to 24 hours.

It may take 3 or 4 days of use to achieve maximum protection. It is therefore important to continue regular use to get the full therapeutic benefit.

If you do not feel better after 7 days or if you feel worse, you should see a doctor.

Contraindications:
Do not use Flonase:
- if you are allergic to fluticasone propionate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Flonase.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. There are no data on the effects of this medicine on fertility.

Driving and using machines:
Flonase is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or use any tools or machines.

How to take it:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Dosage for adults aged 18 years and over:
The recommended dose is two sprays in each nostril once a day (200 micrograms fluticasone propionate), preferably in the morning.
Once your symptoms have improved, you may be able to reduce the dose to one spray in each nostril once a day.
If your symptoms are very severe, you may need to increase the dose to two sprays in each nostril twice a day until they improve, but only for a short time.
- Do not use more than 8 sprays (4 in each nostril) each day.
- Use the lowest dose that controls your symptoms.
- If your symptoms do not improve or are not well controlled after 7 days, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
- Do not use more than the recommended dose.

Use in children and adolescents:
Not to be used by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Composition:
- The active substance is fluticasone propionate. Each spray delivers 100 mg of suspension containing 50 micrograms of fluticasone propionate as a delivered dose.
- The other ingredients are glucose (anhydrous), microcrystalline cellulose, carmellose sodium, phenylethyl alcohol, benzalkonium chloride, polysorbate 80 and purified water.
