Indications:
Pacid contains the active substance pantoprazole, which blocks the “pump” that produces acid in the stomach. This reduces the amount of acid in the stomach.
Pacid is used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (e.g. heartburn, acid regurgitation) in adults.
Contraindications:
Do not take Pacid:
- if you are allergic to pantoprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Pacid.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
You should not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Driving and using machines:
If you experience side effects such as dizziness or blurred vision, you should not drive or use machines.
How to take:
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is one tablet per day. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose of 20 mg pantoprazole.
You should take this medicine for at least 2-3 consecutive days. Stop taking Pacid when your symptoms have completely disappeared. You may experience an improvement in your acid reflux and heartburn symptoms after just one day of taking Pacid, but this medicine is not designed to provide immediate relief.
If your symptoms do not improve after taking this medicine continuously for 2 weeks, talk to your doctor.

Composition:
- The active substance is pantoprazole. Each gastro-resistant tablet contains 20 mg pantoprazole (equivalent to 22.56 mg pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate).
- The other ingredients are: Core: anhydrous sodium carbonate, mannitol, crospovidone, L-hydroxypropylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, calcium stearate;
Film-coating: hypromellose 5 cP, propylene glycol, povidone, titanium dioxide (E 171), yellow iron oxide (E 172);
Enteric coating: methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer, triethyl citrate, sodium lauryl sulphate, titanium dioxide (E 171), yellow iron oxide (E 172), talc;
Opacode black S-1-17823 printing ink: shellac glaze, isopropyl alcohol, black iron oxide (E 172), n-butyl alcohol, propylene glycol, ammonium hydroxide.
